Mondrian Fund contributes to seventeen art institutions, including again DE PLAYER.
39 presentation institutes asked for a total of over € 6.1 million. The programs with the most value to the artistic climate in the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean were honored. Due to the large number of applications and the available budget, the Mondriaan Fund made sharp choices based on the quality of the plans. Institutions included in the Basic infrastructure directly funded by the government could not apply. It was the last round before the Mondriaan Fund will start her new policies in 2013. From 2013 there will be less money available.
The institutions that receive a contribution are: DE PLAYER (Rotterdam and different locations), Extrapool (Nijmegen), Fotodok (Utrecht), If I Can not Dance, I Do not Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution (various (inter) national locations), Impakt (Utrecht), Instituto Buena Bista (Willemstad), Arthouse SYB (Beetsterzwaag), Art Association Diepenheim (Diepenheim) Lost & Found (Amsterdam and various venues), MAMA (Rotterdam), Nest (The Hague), Paradox (Edam), SMART / NASA (Amsterdam), Power (The Hague), Vleeshal (Middelburg), West (The Hague) and Worm (Rotterdam).

The Mondriaan Fund contributes to programs of presentation institutes because they are vital for development and visibility within the visual arts sector. These organizations stand out as an alternative circuit of more established institutions by a current and flexible programming and intensive involvement of artists. Their programs provide opportunities for experimentation and innovation, are laboratories for artistic research and provide a platform for young artists and curators. Both public and larger institutions, galleries and museums benefit from their high quality programs because the flow of interesting artists and concepts.
